"Organic Semiconductors towards the next"

November 11(Thu) and 12(Fri), 2010


The workshop covers the physics, chemistry, surface science and device physics on organic semiconductor devices. The researchers in relation to organic semiconductors including the member of COE start-up program will report the recent activities and discuss the problems in this field. In addition to the current research, we'd like to discuss on the future aspect of organic semiconductors. For example,

  • How can we find out original advantages of organic electronic materials? What is really unique advantage of organics against inorganic semiconductors?
  • When we establish the frame work on how organic molecules work in devices, the frame work can be useful to understand other systems including molecule such as bio-related system. How we can explain the function of bio-related molecules from the view point of organic electonic device physics and elelctonic structures. So, in this workshop, we also have a session for bio-related field. Bio-sensing, electronic structures of bio-related molecules, and spectrosopy for bio-system are also discussed. For the above discussion, we'd like to have a hint to the next stage of organic semiconductor research.
